On average, a simple notary session can take up to 15 minutes. We automatically block off 30 minutes for each appointment.
However, complex notarizations such as loan signings can take at least an hour. This depends on the number of signers, amount of documents that need to be reviewed, your familiarity with those documents, whether the closing agent needs to be a conference called to address concerns before proceeding, and any other challenges faced during the session.
For online notarizations, you must answer five security questions pulled from the information in your public record, in addition to providing a government-issued photo ID.
For in-person notarizations, you will need one form of ID or a certifying witness who can attest to your identity. Digital copies/photos of your ID are not permissible.
Acceptable IDs: Driver's License, State ID, Passport, Passport Card, Permanent Resident Card, or Visa
